What our volunteers do

Standards Not Force organizes volunteers both online and locally.

Local on the ground efforts are organized by city, with a team of volunteers lead by an established committee. This is scalable organization which can grow and spread from city to city. Standards Not Force is currently operating in 12 major cities with plans to expand into more cities; operating under 6 regional directors.

Online volunteers can join from anywhere, and can help with national online initiatives until Standards Not Force comes to their city. Local volunteers are also welcome to help with online initiatives.

National online initiatives include sending targeted email requests to corporations asking for transparency surrounding immigrant detention, reporting ghost jobs for a national database, and sending targeted emails to corporations that post ghost jobs.

Rules of Conduct

All participants in Standards Not Force activities must adhere to these core principles:
1. Maintain peaceful demeanor at all times. No raised voices, threats, or aggressive behavior
2. Respect all individuals regardless of their position or viewpoint.
3. Stay within legal boundaries. If unsure, do not proceed.
4. Document transparently. Keep records of activities and communications.
5. Protect privacy. Do not share personal information about others without consent.
6. Focus on education, not confrontation. Inform, don’t inflame.
7. Accept accountability. Take responsibility for your own conduct.

What this initiative is:

Lawful: All activities operate within legal boundaries and respect due process.

Peaceful: We commit to nonviolent methods of education and engagement.

Transparent: Our standards, methods, and goals are openly documented.

Educational: We focus on informing communities about their rights and responsibilities.

Community-centered: The goal is stronger, more stable neighborhoods for everyone.

What this initiative is not:

Not violent: We do not endorse or engage in any form of physical force or intimidation.

Not harassing: We do not target individuals or engage in personal attacks.

Not disruptive: We do not obstruct commerce, traffic, or public services.

Not coercive: Participation is voluntary and we respect individual choices.

Not partisan: This is not affiliated with any political party or candidate.
